The majority of our business still comes from word of mouth and repeat business, which we believe is a testament to the quality of our service. We are always happy to take on new clients and have many satisfied customers who will be delighted to act as a reference. We will work on any electrical project big or small from a complete house rewiring or commercial installation to the wiring of a simple electrical plug.
I was originally trained in the aerospace industry with a full practical apprenticeship with Hawker Siddeley (which then became British Aerospace). I was with them for 13 years during which time I also graduated with a 2.1 Honours Degree and also achieved Chartered Engineer (CEng) Status with chartered membership of the Institute of Electrical Engineers (MIEE). I finished my time at BAe as an Operations Director responsible for the build of the BAe 146 aircraft.
I was then head hunted and went to work at an aerospace sub contractor for 5 years as General Manager, then head hunted again to work at a company called BE Aerospace, latterly as Managing Director - BE Aerospace are a manufacturer of aircraft seats, galleys, crew rests and other interior aircraft equipment. I worked with customers across Europe, the Middle East and Asia and also set up a factory in the Philippines, also researching and working in China, Vietnam and Tunisia. The company was a US parent so I also spent a lot of time in the US, used by the parent company as a technical and operations "troubleshooter". The company asked me to cover work permanently in the Philippines but instead I decided to go back to college in the UK to update my practical electrical qualifications and Borland Property Management was born.
All my experience and training is responsible for my approach to provide quality work on every job, my attention to detail and organisation.
I studied for a full two years to obtain the C&G 2330 qualification in Electrical Installations, also the "17th Regulations" (C&G 2382-10) and then the full and highest qualification in Electrical Inspection and Testing (C&G 2391-10). I then went on to study and get the NICEIC qualification in PV installations (Solar Panels) with other training and qualifications being in Health and Safety, Quality Systems (although in corporate life I had already been Accountable Manager for ISO 9001 companies), Working at Height and COSHH. I also studied for and have the necessary qualifications for Portable Appliance (PAT) testing and the qualification for the management of PAT testing systems. I am NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Industry Contracting) registered and approved (Domestic Installer), also MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) approved for Solar Panel installations and also REAL (Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd) and TrustMark registered. Notably, the NICEIC and MCS approvals involve annual on site assessments of work, the NICEIC approval also covers domestic "Part P" where I self certify domestic work and register it for customers to receive statements of compliance with building regulations and notifications to local building control offices. The NICEIC approval also means that domestic work is covered by an insurance backed warranty sent directly to customers as work is registered.
Our Part P certification, full electrical Level 3 and Inspection and Testing qualifications give you peace of mind that all our work is carried out to National Standards and is recognised under UK Building Regulations. All electrical works carried out by Borland Property Maintenance is compliant with current UK Building regulations. We are also members of several leading Industry Associations whose guidelines and working practises we adhere to. We would be happy to provide you with proof of all our current memberships should you require.
All our engineers and our work is covered by our comprehensive insurance package.
